An Afternoon Midweek Ride Inbetween the Rain Showers This Week.

It has been raining on and off all week.  It makes it hard to get the horses exercised, but don't let my husband Billy hear me complain at all!  Rain helps the grass in the hay pastures grow!  Those hay pastures are always on his mind.

They always seem to be saying secrets, I think they are talking about me.

Love the Spring time in East Texas

We have been keeping a close eye almost daily on our Wild Plum Trees.  We love these tasty little treats.  We some how missed them last year, I guess it is a short window to harvest them.  We wont miss it this year.  We are checking on them almost daily, in between rain showers.  Waiting till the time is just right to pick them.

You don't want to pick them to early because they wont be too tasty then.  They will be horrible actually.  You have to pick them at the right time.

The Wild Hogs love these Wild Plums too.  They will rub up against the trunks of the trees and shake the plums down to the ground to eat.  You know it is the hogs doing it because the trunk of the trees are full of mud of where they have been rubbing and the ground is all rooted up. They haven't started it yet, I guess they are waiting on the plums to be ripe too.
We will go for a ride and go check on the progress tomorrow.
